Installation & Cleaning

  • Handmade Design

Each and every filter is cut,
molded and positioned by hand. Therefore there may be a difference in the screen setting and mold wall. If air bubbles occur in the lower lip of the filter they will not affect the performance of the filter. Please check on the inside for any missed overflow(if found please remove). Also there might be a very small breakthrough of screen in the retaining ring. If this was missed in the pre-shipment check, it can be removed with nail clippers. Always wear
safety glasses when cutting any metal object with a cutting tool.

  • Installation

Easy on, easy off, no tools
    needed with Lock & Twist

Our newest design is the lock
& twist installation type. You lock one side on and then twist evenly and the filter should snap into place. Outer slope with lip lock technology.

    Dual & Quad Style Filters

For best installation with Dual & Quad filters, if possible remove stacks
& insert into filter then reattach your stacks to you carburetors. This technique
also can be applied to singles that are touching or very close together.

  • Installation lubricant

If you receive installation lubricant with your filters, this is to help with installation. This is only necessary for stacks with large lips. Just put a very light film on the stack, about 2/10 of the lip. This will make installation even easier.
DO NOT use any other products as lubricant. During installation if by chance the screen should become unformed, don’t worry it is an easy fix. Just remove and reform with your thumb and fingers. After remolding, the retaining ring may become out of round. To fix place the filter on a table and slowly mold back into shape by compressing the ring.

  • Cleaning Your Filters

When to clean your filters depends on the condition and elements you are diving in. These are oil free filters and dirt will not bond to the filter material, as oil type filters would. These filters can be cleaned with any dish soap or mild detergent. Just soak the filter then rinse. Make sure that the water flows from the inside out, always opposite of the air flow. Air dry or you can use a hair dryer on low heat.

DO NOT USE AN AIR COMPRESSOR!
